One of a kind pieces are like an on going conversation and Aticc Shop, located in New London CT, has been our forum. It may be tiny but it is where many creative types have been given a chance to branch out and sell those creations that we painted, stitched, beaded, cut, sewn and transformed into objects that you can buy and now use to express yourself.
Cristin Gallagher had always dreamed about having her own store and with the support of her man Denny Rivera (an amazing artist himself) opened Aticc in June 2009. Their mission being:
..."Support yourself by supporting your community. Through collaborating, we aspire to gain success not only for ourselves but also for those whom surround us. Putting both feet forward and stepping outside, inside and all around the box. Never loosing pride or respect for things and people that helped you to succeed. Fashion, design, art, graffiti, accessories, we are an entourage that creates and sells all eccentric media."
New London is a place where the people breath and bleed art. Many including myself have found our artistic expression in this gritty city and we have all been blessed by the energy Cristin and Denny have put into our community. They have given many creators the courage and space to sell their work.

Aticc Shop is quickly approaching its next expression. Cristin and Denny have learned that sometimes you have to move to grow. They will be transplanting Aticc to Williamsburg and giving New York a taste of New London style. Cristin described to me the need to bring her business to a larger population. She sees it as a chance to not only bring prosperity to her family but to the artist community in her home town that supports her as she supports them.
I will continue to follow their progress as they make this transition. I know I am not the only one who will desperately miss their presence on Green Street. Hopefully we will get regular updates from Cristin herself. I have asked her to make guest appearances on this blog. She and Denny have been such an important part of my own creative growth. I would not have achieved all I have without their encouragement and collaboration. I give thanks for having them in my life.
